Not surprisingly, the primary reason to hire an Interior Designer is to LOVE your space! Whether it is your home, or your office, you should feel comfortable there, and it should be a positive and functional spare. An Interior Designer is there to help you achieve that. They will typically have a degree in design, as well as years of experience.
One of the less obvious advantages to hiring an Interior Designer is cost savings. You heard me right. Though it seems counterintuitive to pay somebody in order to save money, if you hire a skilled designer, this will often be a result. With years of experience in the industry, and the connections that come along with it, retailers are well aware that giving a discount to these industry insiders can be greatly beneficial. Often they will have established relationships with various retailers, getting hefty discounts which would be entirely out of reach to the average consumer. Not to mention the rather heavy time commitment it would take to track down high quality merchandise/furniture etc., even without these discounts.
Finally, we come to ‘style’. This word is thrown around so often that it has come to seem meaningless to many people. A common fear may be that by hiring an interior designer, their own ‘style’ will be imposed on you, and you will be left living/working in a space that is not quite “you”. But a skilled designer will not only offer their creativity, but will work to enhance your own style, one that makes you feel comfortable and ‘at home’ (which is even more important when you’re at work).
